What is Outpatient Rehab Like?
Addiction Recovery Programs that Work with Your Schedule
The Summit Intensive Outpatient Program starts with visiting one of our clean, modern facilities for the first time and meeting our friendly counselors and medical and clinical staff. Soon after being admitted into Summit IOP, the new client will undergo a comprehensive initial assessment, which looks at his or her patient history, signs of underlying mental health conditions and other factors behind the drug or alcohol addiction.
After the initial assessment, our medical and clinical team will go to work on crafting a customized recovery plan for the client, including treatment for any co-occurring disorders (depression, anxiety, etc.) discovered during the assessment. From there, the client will begin receiving treatment according to his or her individualized recovery plan, which usually involves at least three days a week at one of our New Jersey or Pennsylvania outpatient facilities for 12 consecutive weeks. The beauty of intensive outpatient treatment is that the clients get to return home at the end of their scheduled treatment services and continue to go to school or work during the duration of the program.
Summit IOP’s continuum of care guarantees that clients will receive a variety of evidenced-based holistic services during their IOP Treatment. These holistic activities include, but are not limited to:
- Reiki massages
- 12-step meetings
- Medical education
- Stress management
- Cognitive behavioral therapies
- Family counseling
- One-on-one counseling
Beyond the Initial IOP Program
Flexible Options For Continued Care
At Summit IOP, we want to see each client’s recovery last. Therefore, our outpatient facilities keep their doors open to those who have already completed an individualized addiction recovery program with us. These former clients can come back to Summit IOP for treatment services on an as-needed basis, or we can build a continued care plan with a consistent schedule.
Once a client graduates from IOP Treatment, we also coordinate with and refer medical professionals near the client’s home to monitor and foster ongoing sobriety. Our New Jersey and Pennsylvania facilities also offer several opportunities each month for alumni to meet and interact with current clients, which we’ve found to be beneficial for both parties. At Summit IOP, we’re looking to lead clients to everlasting sobriety, and our interaction with them never has to be limited to only 12 weeks.
